Particles 1

I started Particles in Unity 4


My first dust particle as you can see from this image, the shape was repetitive and need more randomisation with the settings.



I was also using alpha blend - 'Additive' texture at this time, Which lighten itself against any background not very good for quality blending.

I then started using texture sheet animations, this took a while to work out the details. on my own, it was pretty exciting. The texture's alpha needed refining but was good start. To make this particle effect (above) look good, I reduced the size of the particles and increased the rate. There is also rock meshes in there to add detail. I switched to alpha blended



I next refined the alpha and smoothed the colours of the texture underneath to one coherent colour. This made the effect quite cartoon to match the stylised look we where going for at the time. This was my attempt at a dust wind.
